THATCHER – The ASEAC Ribbon Club has changed the Superhero Mayhem event to Julie’s Superhero Mayhem in honor of Julie Hancock. We felt like we needed to provide an outlet for the community to show support for the Hancock family. This event is geared toward the children. With hopes that they will feel like they are doing something for Julie and her family. All money collected from this event will go to Julie’s family.
On March 6 during track practice, Julie Hancock, 11, collapsed and was immediately unresponsive. The coaches and first responders were very quick to act and got her to the hospital quickly. From Mount Graham Regional Medical Center she was flown to Banner – University Medical Center Tucson, Diamond Children’s Medical Center. It was there on March 8 that Julie went to her heavenly home. Julie was loved by everyone that knew her and her fire red hair and big smile were unforgettable.

When: Saturday, March 23, from 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Cost: Superhero Obstacle Course (geared toward children) $10 each participant and includes pancake breakfast – pancake breakfast by itself is $5

In conduction with Julie’s Superhero Mayhem, Gila Valley Crossfit will hold “Julie’s Strongman Team Challenge” on Saturday, March 23, at John T. Mickelson Field starting at 8 a.m.
The Superhero Strongman will be for 16 years and older only. Teams will consist of two male, two female, or coed. There will be RX and scaled divisions available. Scaled divisions must be able to lift at least 45 pounds. All participants must sign a waiver prior to the
Tickets for the strongman event are $30 per team. All proceeds will be donated to the Hancock family.
