GILA/PINAL COUNTY – Motorists on U.S. Highway 60 between Miami and Superior will encounter intermittent lane restrictions and delays starting Wednesday, Feb. 24, for the Pinto Creek Bridge replacement project.

The restrictions are necessary while crews haul girders for the new bridge into the worksite and place them to form the bridge. Girder work is scheduled for daylight hours, Mondays through Fridays, and is scheduled to continue into May.

Motorists should follow the direction of flaggers and law enforcement. While delays will generally be limited to 15 minutes, longer delays are possible during peak travel times.

Because the restrictions will be intermittent (traffic will not be affected every day), motorists can check the upcoming schedule on the project website, azdot.gov/PintoCreekBridge, or on AZ 511.

Drivers should proceed with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
