THATCHER – It’s not every raffle that a $5 ticket could result in one lucky winner being awarded a $200,000 home in Thatcher. But then again, the Thatcher Booster Club headed by David Palmer is not your everyday booster club.
The club is selling raffle tickets to its biggest giveaway in history. While the top prize is a $200,000 home by Aston Homes in the Cota Mountain View subdivision, a number of other big prizes are also up for grabs.
Other prizes include a $75,000 Dodge Hellcat or 2500 Dodge diesel lifted truck from Arizona Dodge; a 2018 Nissan Altima from Johnson Motors; a $35,000 RV from Trek RV; a $25,000 Chevy Malibu from Kempton Chevrolet; a $25,000 kitchen or bathroom remodel by AZ Tech Contracting; $25,000 shopping spree from Gila Outdoor; $25,000 complete home furniture package from Spark’s Homestore; a Can-Am X3 from Maverick Motorsports; a Polaris Ranger 1000 fro Gila Outdoors; $25,000 cash from NAPA Auto Parts; season tickets to the Suns, Diamondbacks, and Cardinals games (all lower bowl with parking pass) from Global Financial; a $25,000 solar install from Michael Romney and Pro Solar Power; $1,000 store credit to Kainoa’s Hawaiin Grill; $1,000 store credit to the Eagles Roost; a $15,000 HVAC install from Cluff Mechanical and a trip to Hawaii for two plus a massage a month for two years; a $5,000 shopping spree and $20,000 in cash from The Wear, and $1,000 in tires from Big O Tires.
Here’s how it works. The booster club is selling the raffle tickets at each home game for $5 each, $20 for 5, or $100 for 30. The tickets are sold at a pop-up down by the field. According to Palmer, tickets can also be purchased via Venmo or PayPal. Proceeds benefit the Thatcher Booster Club. The PayPal name is thatcherathletics@gmail.com and the Venmo is @thatcherathletics. If purchasing through those outlets be sure to put your phone number on the message or text Palmer at 928-322-2212, so he can put your name on the tickets.
The night before Thatcher’s home game with Pima on Sept. 28, one raffle ticket will be drawn and that winner will get to choose one of 250 envelopes at the Thatcher versus Pima game. All of the available grand prizes will be in their own envelopes mixed in with smaller prizes, with the smallest possible prize being $500 in cash. Whatever envelope the raffle winner picks, that will be the prize awarded. All other prizes not picked will be retained by the businesses offering them.
So, if you are feeling lucky, be sure to get your raffle tickets before Sept. 27. And one lucky person could walk away with a new home free and clear, or one of the other grand prizes.
