GLOBE – Chief People and Technology Officer Preston Pollock, with Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, will represent District No. 5 in Globe on the Gila Community College Provisional District Governing Board.

Pollock, also CVRMC’s in-house counsel, holds a law degree and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA).

“His training and experience in executive management, finance, and policy will play a crucial role as Gila Community College strives toward providing students with quality post-secondary academic and Career Technical Education opportunities,” says Gila County Superintendent of Public Instruction Roy A. Sandoval.

Pollock, his wife, and four sons have lived in Gila County since 2016, when he began his career with CVRMC.

“My interest in the Gila Community College District comes from my son’s participation in the dual-credit programs at the high school level; in the significance of the CVIT programs and the need for local education to support our community commerce,” Pollock said.

Sandoval is pleased to announce Pollock’s appointment – the culmination of a six-week process adhering to Arizona State Statutes related to governing board appointments.

The process included published announcements; referrals by the existing governing board applications sent by certified mail and personal interviews, Sandoval explains.

By statute, Pollock’s term will extend until the November 2024 General Election.
