PIMA – Dan Hinton School & Brighter Day Preschool would like to remind Arizona residents that under Arizona law, individuals who owe state taxes can receive a tax credit of up to $200 if they contribute that money to a public school, with couples receiving up to a $400 tax credit.

Take charge of how some of your tax dollars are spent. By donating to Dan Hinton School & Brighter Day Preschool, you not only help a school that handles high special needs students with a wide spectrum of categories, including autism, multiple disabilities, and speech students. The school receives students from throughout the county, and students from Fort Thomas, Pima, Thatcher, and Bonita can receive speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy if they qualify.

Current needs at the school include a sidewalk in place of grass to provide better access to our wheelchair swings. There is a preschool slide that has a huge crack and needs to be replaced; the school needs a defibrillator, and tax money could also be designated for use for field trips, other playground equipment or shade, student health care supplies, and three-wheeled bicycles.

If you would like to earn a dollar for dollar reduction on the state income tax you owe, make a check payable to Dan Hinton School and mail it to Credit for Kids, P.O. Box 488, Pima, AZ, 85543, or hand deliver to the school at 150 E. 400 South in Pima. Receipts will be provided.
