SAFFORD – As many in the community get their children ready for the new scholastic year with back-to-school shopping for clothes and supplies there are many who cannot afford much.

Enter the free Back to School Clothing Exchange at the Safford LDS Stake Center at 501 W. Catalina Dr. The event will take place Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and people can donate unwanted clothes or clothes children have grown out of and receive something new in their size.

Guidelines include:

  • Clothes need to be clean and in good condition without stains or holes.
  • Bags of clothes must be labeled with sizes and whether they are boy or girl clothes.
  • Clothes can be dropped off at 2330 S. Lamonica Way or 1969 E. Solomon Road from July 27 to Aug. 3. Items can also be dropped off at the LDS Stake Center after 4 p.m., starting Aug. 3.
  • Items accepted include infant to adult clothing, backpacks, belts, shoes, and jewelry.

For more information text Mary Richardson at (928) 322-6539 or text or call Sarah Knight at (435) 219-1357.

Working together, the community can help everyone start the new school year looking great and have supplies to help them prepare to do their best.
