Graham County records third COVID-19 death; eight new cases bring total to 125

SAFFORD – On Thursday night, the Graham County Department of Health and Human Services has reported a third death related to COVID-19 in Graham County. The victim was a male in his 40s who worked in Safford.

Additionally, the health department announced eight new cases to bring the county’s total to 125 for the pandemic as of Thursday night, with 89 currently active cases, 33 recovered cases, and three deaths.

Of the new cases, four are from Safford and four are from Pima. All known close contacts to the new positives have been notified and placed on quarantine until cleared by the health department.  

The ages of all the positive cases include 22 under 20 years old, 31 between the ages of 21-34, 49 between the ages of 35-64, and 23 who are 65 years old or older.

Greenlee County

After steadily increasing day after day, Greenlee County has remained stable for about a week at 18 total cases, with eight active, nine recovered, and the single death.

The county has tested 488 people and has 55 test results pending.
