Staff Reports
The following are local contested race results for the General Election. There were 14,371 ballots cast with 9,427 early and 4,944 on election day.
Fort Thomas School Board
Robert Olivar Jr. led with 274 votes after a late vote dump. Alicia Talgo-Cadmus had 272, and Chris Duncan had 271 as the three highest vote-getters to date.
Pima School Board
Incumbents JJ Alder (1,348 votes), Clint Colvin (1,117 votes), and Melissa Batty (1,077 votes) lead for re-election with Becky Howell on the outside with 962.
Safford School Board
As of Tuesday evening’s initial vote release with three seats available, Kevin England led with 3,015 votes, followed by Tyler Attaway with 2,945 votes, and Jodi McGinty with 2,920 votes, with Eric Whisman on the outside with 2,600 votes.
Thatcher School Board
Two-year seat: Travis Smith (1,901 votes) was elected over Elizabeth Henley (1,202 votes).
Four-year seats: (Four open) As of Tuesday night’s initial release, Susan Hancock led with 1,934 votes, followed by Kate McCluskey with 1,858 votes, and Debbie Chapman with 1,852 votes, with Adam Bingham on the outside with 1,822 votes.
Safford City Council
Alma Flores (1,839 votes) was elected to the city council over Luke Chavez (1,282 votes).
EAC Board Member District 4
Tina McMaster won re-election with 1,457 votes. Others receiving votes included Bob Rivera with 750 votes, and Eric Bejarano with 736 votes.
EAC Board Member District 5
Vince Kieffer led with 980 votes. Others receiving votes included Brant Mattice with 813 votes and Brandon Reed with 607 votes.
Proposition 402 EAC Base Expenditure Limitation Adjustment
The vote to approve the adjustment was successful by a vote of 10,594 for just 2,871 against.
