Graham County Democrats to open new headquarters

Fun starts at 9 a.m. this Saturday

Excitement and fun are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, in Safford. It involves the grand opening of the Graham County Democratic Party headquarters.

Graham County Party Chairman Nick Nordgran-Tellez said the public is invited to attend the celebration, which begins at 9 a.m. The headquarters are located at 816 W. Thatcher Blvd. 

“Are you feeling like you have forgotten the meaning of the word ‘fun’?” Nordgran-Tellez asked. “This will be a very good time for people to lift their spirits, particularly during these tough, challenging times. So, come on out and celebrate with us.”

The Graham County Democratic Party plans to uplift spirits with the grand opening of its headquarters at 816 W. Thatcher Blvd. The event begins with the 9 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony. It will be followed by “Donkey Dancing,” music, free hot dogs, and refreshing ice-cold soda pop.

“We’ll certainly do everything we can to helps folks beat the heat,” Nordgran-Tellez said.

The grand opening includes an opportunity to meet candidates, such as state senate candidate Bob Karp, along with state representative candidates Kimberly Moschetti and Ronnie Maestas-Condos.  

Local candidates are encouraged to attend as well. There will be literature to hand out as well as yard signs and other freebies, Nordgran-Tellez said.

Social distancing protocols will be strictly observed, and face coverings are mandatory for everyone, including children older than 2.   

“We will meet in the parking lot behind the building, with individual tours of the inside of the headquarters provided,” Nordgran-Tellez said. “Let’s make this a fun, safe day for everyone!”
