SAFFORD – The Graham County Chamber of Commerce Board unanimously approved the annual budget Wednesday. The Chamber is primarily funded by the city of Safford and membership dues. The new budget includes more funding from Graham County, the town of Thatcher, and the town of Pima.

New funding from two Copper Members at the Chamber will allow for renovations on the Chamber building as well as funding core programs.

“We are really excited about our continued sponsorship of the city of Safford and the increase in funding from Thatcher, Pima, and the county,” said Chamber Executive Director, Vance Bryce. “Our Copper members Bayacan and NatureSweet, at $12,000 in annual funding each, will go a long way to making the Gila Valley Welcome Center an impressive first impression to tourists and guests.”

The mission of the Graham County Chamber of Commerce is to advance the quality of life for everyone in The Gila Valley through connection, leadership, and tourism by recruiting and supporting an exemplary, professional, and ethical team. This budget includes $36,000 in tourism marketing spending, $4000 for Gila Valley Leadership training, and $10,000 to leverage for grants to renovate the Chamber.
