Gomez retains seat on Greenlee BOS

Independent William Wearne takes other contested seat

CLIFTON – The votes are in and Greenlee County District 1 Supervisor David Gomez (D) has survived a furious challenge from Independent challenger Nicole Horn to retain his seat for a fifth term by just six votes. 

According to Greenlee County Election results, Gomez finished with 502 votes to 496 for Horn. This is the final tally, according to County Administrator Derek Rapier. 

In the other contested supervisors’ race, Independent William Wearne won the seat for District 3 with 548 votes to 456 for Independent J.R. Murdock, and 394 for Republican candidate Kara Wagley. 

Independent Ron Campbell ran unopposed in District 2 and was re-elected. 

In the County Recorder race, Republican candidate Erin Miller was elected with 2,015 votes to 1,177 for the Democratic candidate Sarah Stacey-Camacho. 

Independent Eric Ellison was elected Sheriff with 1,419 votes to 1,036 for Republican candidate Dale Sloan and 823 votes for the Democratic candidate Daniel Medina.
