Gila Health Resources to require COVID tests

MORENCI – On Tuesday, Gila Health Resources announced that due to the highly transmissible Omicron variant of COVID-19, the health provider will be requiring scheduled appointments at its Family Medicine providers who are experiencing COVID-related symptoms to take a COVID test upon arrival. 

The health provider recommends those in such parameters with appointments arrive 45 minutes prior to their scheduled time. 

Gila Health Resources advised that as an alternative to taking the test that a Telehealth (virtual) appointment may be arranged. Those with questions should call the Family Medicine Department Manager Teri Andazola at (928) 865-7512.

On Tuesday, the Greenlee County Health Department announced 11 new COVID-19 cases to put the county’s total for the pandemic to 1,558. Greenlee currently has 151 active cases, 1,380 recoveries, and 27 deaths.
