On Sept. 25, at approximately 10:56 p.m., the Graham County Communications Center received a call from a male reporting he had been shot at by a male known to him as “Jeremy”, later identified as Jeremy Bowman (39) and “Jeremy” was still in the area of 11000 block of W. U.S. Highway 70.

Law enforcement from the Pima and Safford Police Departments and the Graham County Sheriff’s Office arrived in the area and found Jeremy Bowman in a ditch in the area.

Deputies learned the following from the initial investigation: Jeremey Bowman had been involved in an altercation with the caller, a male victim, who when law enforcement arrived was bloody from injuries to his head, torso, and arms. The victim reported the injuries were caused by Bowman. The male victim also told law enforcement Bowman had shot at him striking his residence. It was also learned there was a juvenile in the residence at the time (this was confirmed, and the juvenile had no injuries.)

A .22 revolver, which appeared to be the weapon used in the reported shooting, was recovered. The victim’s residence was searched with consent from the victim, and bullet holes were found to support the victim’s statements. Evidence, including a projectile, was collected from the victim’s residence.

An additional victim, a female, stated Bowman had made statements he planned to “kill” the male victim and had assaulted her by taking her phone.

Jeremy Bowman was arrested, and his injuries included a swollen hand. He was later taken to Mt. Graham Regional Hospital for treatment for his hand before being booked into the Graham County Detention Facility.

Jeremy Bowman was booked for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Endangerment, and other felony and misdemeanor charges related to this incident. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
