SAFFORD – For the betterment of the county, the Safford City Landfill at 2755 N. Safford Landfill Rd. is hosting its bi-annual Community Pride Days on Thursday, Oct. 22 – Saturday, Oct. 24.
During those days, no matter if you live in Safford, Thatcher, Pima, or the county, anyone can bring one free load of trash to the dump. Make sure your load is tarped to avoid a $10 fee, and be sure to bring documentation of residency or you will be charged. It goes without saying, but no hazardous materials will be accepted.
Landfill hours are from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., and the Community Pride Days run Thursday, Oct. 22 through Saturday, Oct. 24. The landfill is closed on Sundays.
Unlike the past few years, the town of Pima will not be able to provide curbside pickup and residents will have to haul the refuse to the landfill themselves.
The landfill will not be waiving fees for commercial haulers or commercial business — i.e.; landscape businesses, tree trimming businesses, RV Parks, etc.
Safford residents are always permitted one free truckload to the landfill per month. Those utilizing that perk must bring their city of Safford utility bill that matches a driver’s license address.
So, let’s get together to clean up our neighborhoods and take advantage of some free dump days at the Safford Regional Landfill.
