SAFFORD – Have some unsightly trash around your home you’d like to haul to the dump? How about getting rid of it at no charge?

For the betterment of the county, Safford, Thatcher, Pima, and Graham County are teaming up to sponsor the Safford City Landfill at 2755 N. Safford Landfill Rd. to host its bi-annual Community Pride Days from Thursday, April 23, to Saturday, April 25, from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

During those days, no matter if you lived in Safford, Thatcher, Pima, or the county, anyone could bring one free load of trash to the dump. Make sure your load is tarped or secured to avoid a $10 fee, and bring proof of residency, or you could be charged. It goes without saying that no hazardous materials will be accepted, and identification is required.

The landfill will not waive fees for commercial haulers or businesses — i.e., landscaping businesses, tree-trimming businesses, RV Parks, etc.

Safford residents are always permitted one free truckload to the landfill per month. Those using that perk must bring their city of Safford utility bill that matches the address on the driver’s license.

So, let’s get together to clean up our neighborhoods and take advantage of some free dump days at the Safford Regional Landfill.

Landfill hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Community Pride Days run from Thursday, April 23, to Saturday, April 25, 2025.

The landfill is closed on Sundays.
