GREENLEE COUNTY – Free cloth masks are available from Greenlee County Stand Up and Mask Up, a group of volunteers which was organized by the Greenlee County Health Department and Amanda Gray, Chief Quality Officer of Gila Health Resources.

On March 30, the county health department wrote this letter to encourage county residents to wear a mask when they leave their homes and are in public, and how doing so will slow the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Anyone with questions regarding whether or not they should wear a mask in public should refer to the county’s letter and the CDC information on face-covering (links below).

The masks are being distributed around the county at drive-through events. There will be a distribution event at Morenci High School on Saturday, April 18, starting at 2:30 p.m., at Loma Linda Park on Sunday, April 19, starting at 2:30 p.m., and additional distribution events will take place in the future.

Anyone interested in volunteering or who wants more information can join the Greenlee County Stand Up and Mask Up Facebook group. Additional information on mask-wearing can be found on the CDC website.
