Following is the schedule of events for the Fourth of July Independence Day celebrations for Graham County on Monday, July 4.
Graham County
6 – 11 a.m. Inaugural Moe Villalba Fishing Derby for Kids at the Graham County Fairgrounds
Pima
7 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast at Heritage Park. Cost $3, free for veterans and active military
Flag-raising, music, and breakfast
1 – 5 p.m. – Free admission to the Pima Pool
8 p.m. – Fireworks show at the Vard Lines Memorial Roping Arena
Thatcher
6:30 a.m. – Fireman wakeup call
7 a.m. – People Parade from Stadium Avenue to First Street, then east to Fourth Avenue and south to the Thatcher Middle School
8 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast at Thatcher Park
Safford
9:45 a.m. – Patriotic opening flag ceremony
10 a.m. – Let Freedom Ring Parade down Main Street
Dusk – The annual fireworks show at the Graham County Fairgrounds. The fireworks show is hosted by the Safford Lion’s Club, with assistance from the Safford Fire Department, the city of Safford, the town of Thatcher, and Freeport McMoRan.
