GRAHAM COUNTY – Liberty Salazar, 21, a special needs woman from Safford who is autistic and has been missing since Jan. 23 has been found safe in Texas, according to Graham County Undersheriff Jeff McCormies.

Salar’s family has been informed of her location and is in the process of reciting with their daughter.

A candlelight vigil that was scheduled to be held Thursday night at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce has been canceled. The vigil was to bring awareness to the struggle of the missing and the search for Salazar. The first vigil was held on Saturday, focusing on faith, hope, and perseverance. If you are interested in viewing the speeches on guardianship and missing indigenous women the first vigil can be viewed on the Looking for Liberty Salazar Facebook page.

Salazar went missing after going outside to play in the snow. Her bicycle was found down the road from her house.

A press release is expected to be issued after the family is reunited.
