Feast on tacos and root beer to help bring supplies to Navajo Nation

SAFFORD – Join the Gila Valley Rotary for some of its famous root beer to wash down some delectable Navajo Tacos on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on 8th Street across from the Walmart.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward purchasing supplies for those living in isolated areas of the Navajo Nation, which has been hit especially hard by COVID-19.

Janine Yellowhair Brown, her family, and Stacey Scarce will make their second trip to the Navajo Nation to bring protective supplies and food to those living in isolated areas near White Cone at the end of June.

Monetary donations are welcome, as well as donated supplies. Some supplies that can be used are 99% alcohol from Safford Ace Hardware (which is combined with aloe vera to make sanitizer), anitibacterial hand wipes, hand sanitizer, Clorox, Clorox spray, Clorox wipes, face masks, gloves, cold medicines, and laundry detergent.
