BYLAS – A three-vehicle collision resulting in at least two fatalities has closed both directions of U.S. Highway 70 west of Bylas.
The closure began at about 1:13 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The collision involved cars and a tractor-trailer, according to preliminary accounts.
The crash occurred in the area of milepost 281, and the highway is closed from that area to near Point of Pines. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is assisting the San Carlos Apache Police Department with the crash.
Update: The highway was at least partially reopened by 6:30 p.m., Monday.
