Staff Reports

WILLCOX – Ongoing repairs to U.S. 191 overpass at I-10 west of Willcox will require lane closures resulting in delays and even total closures of eastbound and westbound lanes overnight.

The bridge was damaged in a fatal collision in May 2023.

Beginning Thursday, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) workers will close down the left eastbound lane and the right westbound lane of I-10 near the construction area during daytime hours through Tuesday, May 16, resulting in one lane of travel in each direction.

Beginning Sunday, May 12, all westbound and eastbound lanes of I-10 will be shut down in the construction area between the hours of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. During that time, westbound freeway traffic will take a temporary detour road, while eastbound traffic will utilize the off-ramp and on-ramp to go around the construction.

ADOT crews will either be working during the daytime or nighttime hours, but not both, depending on the day.
