Editorial: Possible Joe and Hunter defense strategies

Column By Mike Bibb

“The thing is that it seems like a double standard.  You know, if I was to do that, if the Miami Mafioso would do something like that, we would be in jail already,  We’d be in cuffs.”

As the old saying goes, “Sometimes, it takes a crook to catch a crook.”  In this case, former gangster Mafia Gambino family underboss – and, Arizona resident Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano – has recently expressed his opinions on President Joe Biden’s “family business.”

The House Oversight Committee investigating Joe and Hunter Biden’s affairs with various foreign interests has discovered direct payments from Hunter’s bank account to Joe’s.

Allegedly, three monthly payments of $1,380, totaling $4,140, were passed through a phony company, Owasco PC.  House committee documents indicate the money originally came from China and was intended as “repayment” to Joe for a truck loan Hunter obtained.

A few weeks ago, two separate checks totaling $240,000 were revealed, sent from his brother James to Joe.  The checks were marked as “loan repayments” in the comment section of the checks.

Those checks also originated from Hunter’s domestic and foreign connections, through bogus shell companies to confuse and hide their existence.

To date, no documentation has been discovered involving the alleged loans, proving they existed, or how the Biden’s managed to loan almost a quarter-million dollars to anyone.

The “loans,” which weren’t loans but payments for favors – appear to be a tax dodge – not an uncommon ploy when evading the IRS.

Equally intriguing, numerous banking “Suspicious Activity Reports” (SARs), have been reported indicating the Biden’s have been involved in unusual financial transactions.

Previously, Joe’s insisted there’s been no direct evidence connecting him to any money transfers from China, Ukraine, Russia, or anywhere else.

“It’s all a bunch of garbage” and “lies,” Joe says.  He’s been repeating the same retort every time reporters ask him about newly discovered evidence linking him and his son to Chinese businesses and individuals.

This might be one of the reasons Joe regularly used several aliases when communicating with members of his family and others.  Guess he never thought someone would eventually figure out the scam.

Taking into account all the accumulated documents, witnesses, and sworn government whistleblower testimony, Sammy the Bull thinks Joe is crooked.

That’s his privilege, but Sammy isn’t president of the United States, and he doesn’t have the benefit of the Department of Justice and Democrat Party looking out for his interests.

Big difference.

In retrospect, Sammy has had some connection with the DOJ, having spent time in prison for racketeering, and later as a witness against fellow mob member John Gotti.

He believes “I don’t think even impeachment is enough.  These people need to be arrested.  They’ve sold out the country.  This is a horrible crime.  This is above every case of treason.  So, when you get into office, you’re expected to live a different life.”

Difficult to argue with Sammy’s reasoning, except Joe hasn’t been indicted or faced a federal jury trial.

His administration has failed to place that task on their “to-do” list for a very simple reason — in most situations, a sitting president first must be impeached and removed from office before being criminally or civilly indicted, per Art. I, Sec, 3, and Art. II, Sec. I of the U.S. Constitution.

However, the House Oversight Committee is continuing to expose the corruption going on within Joe’s family, and the enormous sums of money involved – supposedly, in the tens of millions of dollars.

Sammy insists it’s a form of “organized crime.”

Having been involved in similar activities, he knows something about it – “It’s more organized, you couldn’t get it if this isn’t organized crime.  We were like choirboys compared to what they’re doing now.   If you say it’s not organized crime, I don’t agree with that.  There is no parallel.  They’re doing 10 times more.”

He wasn’t through.  As a final thought, Sammy reminds us, “We may have raised prices in different markets and we got a piece of it, but we never turned around and sold out the whole country.”

Again, Sammy has never experienced the opportunities associated with being the president, nor defense mechanisms available to shield repercussions from unscrupulous conduct.

When honesty and integrity are no longer an expected requirement in our officials and representatives, then elections become sort of a crap shoot, dependent upon the roll of the dice – and the degree of trustworthiness of the election process and office holders.

If a former New York City gangster – turned podcaster and political street commentator – can recognize the deceptions, fraud, profiteering, tax evasion, corruption, and underhandedness seemingly apparent within the Biden cartel, then it shouldn’t be overly difficult for the rest of us to grasp this discord hasn’t been a lingering bad dream, but is actually happening.

Even “Sammy the Bull” knows it.  So should our current “Mr. President.”

Note:  Things are beginning to unravel.  Hunter was recently indicted in California on three felony counts of tax evasion and six misdemeanor charges of failure to file and failure to pay.  There are also firearms violations in Delaware awaiting resolution. — Associated Press, Dec. 8, 2023

Sounds promising, but we’ll see if anything of merit comes from it, or is it just another contrived ruse?  With this bunch, can’t be too certain.

Actually, it seems a little problematic Hunter will ever wear an FCI orange jumpsuit.

When your daddy’s the Pres., I imagine there are all sorts of legal tricks and gimmicks they can pull out of the hat.
