“But I would say the policy, number one, is we’re going to audit everything. We’re going to audit the campaign. We’re going to audit Future Forward. We’re going to audit the DNC so people can know. Do you have any idea where that money went? Does anybody have any idea where that money went?”
James Carville, The Washington Examiner, Nov. 30, 2024
Longtime Louisiana Democrat strategist James “Cueball” Carville is suddenly demanding a financial audit of Kamala Harris’ Presidential campaign.
Keep in mind that her run for the White House only lasted a few months, but her super PAC spent close to a billion and a half dollars and ended up, reportedly, over $20 million in debt.
Even by Democrat’s standards, that’s a lot of dough for nothing in return.
Maybe I should say that’s a lot of dough to spend on a losing candidate.
Carville is only one of many wondering where all the money disappeared. Several big-time Democratic Party donors are thinking the same thing.
Carville spoke clearly on the “Politics War Room” podcast, which is the source of the Washington Examiner’s article.
Commenting upon Kamala’s Future Forward super PAC (Political Action Committee) and speculating where over a billion dollars were spent, Carville said, “I mean, I have some places I’d start looking. I promise you this: The amount of money and the amount of lobbyists that were involved in this campaign is staggering.”
Wow, when a Democrat uses the word “staggering” to describe their propensity to spend other people’s money, then Kamala’s campaign buddies must have set a new record.
Sort of like winning an Olympic Gold Medal in the Campaign Pole Vault Spending event.
Apparently, the sky’s the limit.
Looking into the future, Carville believes Kamala’s reckless squandering may adversely impact Democrat donations, believing it’s “unfathomable” how much money she tossed around and how little in return she had to show for it.
“The resistance is going to have trouble raising money,” he said. “They’re really pissed. And the damage that the 2024 campaign has done, that the damage this decade has done to the Democrat brand, is almost unfathomable, almost unfathomable.”
Adding insult to injury, Harris recently went on TV and explained her version of the campaign, how things didn’t quite go the way she hoped, mentioned the $1.4 billion spent and the additional $20 million in debt incurred and generally apologized for having lost the election.
Yet, ever the politician was optimistic that 2028 would be more positive for Democrats.
That remains to be seen. I imagine the success or failure of the 2028 election will be determined by two things: how successful the Republicans are between now and then and whether Democrats can get their act together, formulate winning public policies without going even further left, and nominate a rational thinking candidate who doesn’t reflect the mindset of the coastal elites, Hollywood, or the liberal media.
Similar strategies to how the party used to be years ago before drifting into the nether world of woke socialist politics.
And, if Carville’s intended audit of Kam’s campaign doesn’t reveal too many incriminating spending disputes.
A little financial trickery is expected, but when it reaches the billions of dollars, many Democratic campaign contributors will begin looking elsewhere to invest their money—or stay home.
