THATCHER – The Eastern Arizona College Marketing and Public Relations Department earned four Medallion Awards for advertising excellence at the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 6 conference held Nov. 8 in Tucson.
Competing against community colleges from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, and U.S. Pacific territories, the team secured top honors with one Gold, two Silver, and one Bronze Medallion.
The Gold Medallion recognized the team’s design of the EAC Commercial Driver License Program’s semi-truck and trailer, which features images of EAC students, Gila Hank, and registration calls to action. This was awarded in the category of outdoor signage and advertising displays.
The team earned two Silver Medallions for its “Soccer Siege” radio campaign announcing the launch of EAC’s soccer programs and for a printed flyer outlining the College’s four-step enrollment process. Additionally, the Fall 2023 issue of the EAC Foundation’s Gila Gram magazine received a Bronze Medallion.
“Our marketing team excels at creating campaigns that are not only visually appealing but also strategically designed to inspire action,” said Keith Alexander, EAC’s chief government relations officer. “Their work ensures our messaging is clear, purposeful, and effective in connecting students with opportunities at EAC.”
The EAC Marketing and Public Relations Department includes Kris McBride, director; Lori Dugan, associate director; Chaz Ornelas, web content facilitator; and Monique Saldana, marketing and public relations supervisor. The team is supported by part-time staff, including Sophia Saldana, Taylor Ellett, Callie Walters, Drew Curley, Mandy Matthews, and several work-study students. Together, they execute strategic initiatives to increase awareness of Eastern Arizona College and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
