From the opening whistle, Thatcher’s offense operated with surgical precision, establishing an unanswerable ground game that left Coolidge searching for answers. Senior running back and defensive standout Josh Jones put on an unforgettable clinic, exploding through holes for a staggering 213 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries—averaging an incredible 13.3 yards per touch. The rushing attack also featured 195 yards and two touchdowns from fellow senior Tufden Taylor on 14 carries, for a one-two knockout punch.

Coolidge’s offense fought hard under freshman quarterback Juan Alvarez, who directed the attack efficiently, completing 10 of 19 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown, though he threw three interceptions. Alvarez connected heavily with versatile weapon Dance Cade, who hauled in 3 receptions for 119 yards and a score, while also punching in a rushing touchdown.

However, the Bears struggled to contain Thatcher’s balanced onslaught. On the defensive side, Thatcher’s unit flew to the ball, shut down any sustained momentum, and sent the home crowd into a frenzy as the Eagles polished off a stellar 8-2 regular season.
