THATCHER — With a crash of drums and a flash of light, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” comes to Eastern Arizona College. Come see this extraordinary musical April 3-7, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are available at the EAC Ticket Office at (928) 428-8228.
The first full-length musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice, Joseph depicts, in a family-friendly setting, Joseph and his exciting biblical journey in Canaan and Egypt, the betrayal by his jealous brothers, and his rise to Egyptian fame as a dream interpreter. Paired with unforgettable music, Joseph features musical genres such as country-western, 50s rock, French ballade, and calypso. Make sure that you “go, go, go” to one of these magnificent performances.
With stage direction and choreography by Steven James Higginbotham, music direction by Chase Moore, orchestra direction by Franklin Alvarez, set design by Scott Dahl, costume designs by Timilee McNair, lighting design by Don Eller, sound design by Randall Shumway, stage management by Lyndsay Shumway, and assistant stage management by Shayla Young and Noah Rohrbough, this production will be one you do not want to miss.
“The beauty of this performance is the chance for so many age groups to interact together,” said Chase Moore, associate professor of music and director of musical theatre. “We have 75 community members, college students, and a children’s chorus all performing on the same stage. Their efforts along with this well-crafted musical will surely deliver a night of fun and thrill to our audiences. Of course, it is all presented in Technicolor.”
Tickets can be purchased at the box office before each performance or by calling Eastern Arizona College’s Ticket office at (928) 428-8228. General admission is $5 per person, and full-time EAC students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.
