Thatcher — The spring air will be filled with the lively sounds of jazz on Friday, April 19, as Eastern Arizona College’s Jazz Band takes the stage at the Activities Center – Lee Little Theater for a memorable 7 p.m. performance. Admission is free to all.
Under the expert direction of EAC’s director of bands, Geoff DeSpain, the Jazz Band will perform a diverse program featuring classic and contemporary pieces that promise to captivate and entertain. DeSpain remarked, “This is a fantastic band, and this will be an amazing show.”
Concert Program Highlights:
- In the Mood by Joe Garland
- October Rain by Vince Gassi
- Hay Burner and other favorites by Sammy Nestico
- Proud Mary, featuring vocalist Anne Bigler, arranged by Geoff DeSpain
- Strike Up the Band and Birdland, iconic pieces by George and Ira Gershwin, and Josef Zawinul respectively
- Cry Me A River featuring vocalist Liam Harlan
- It Had To Be You, a duet by Anne Bigler and Liam Harlan
- The Chicken by Alfred James Ellis
- America the Beautiful, arranged by Ray Charles and featuring Chase Moore
