THATCHER – The Eastern Arizona College Women’s basketball team will battle Arizona Western on Friday night for the Region 1 Championship, starting at 7 p.m.

EAC is 15-2 this year, with its only losses being to Arizona Western on Feb. 13, 59-65, and to Central Arizona Community College on March 16, 61-77.
The winner of the region will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament held in Lubbock, Texas on April 19-24.
EAC is coached by Cameron Turner, who was named ACCAC Coach of the Year. His assistants include Angelica de Paulo and Sam Daley.
Top players on the team include Catarina Ferreira (ACCAC 1st Team, All-Region 1st Team, Freshman of the Year), Isis Smith (ACCAC 1st Team, All-Region 1st Team), Susi Namoa (ACCAC 2nd Team, All-Region 2nd Team), and Ajae Yoakum (ACCAC 2nd Team, All-Region 2nd Team.)
