EAC presents Spring Community Jazz Concert

THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Community Jazz Ensemble and Gila Valley Jazz Combo will take the stage for its annual Community Jazz Concert on Monday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m., in the EAC Activities Center – Lee Little Theater. Admission to the concert is free.

“This is our Valentine’s Day gift to the Gila Valley,” said EAC Dean of Instruction and member of the band, Dr. Phil McBride. “It will be great for a date night or fun for the whole family and the price is certainly right!”

Members of the ensemble have enrolled in a class taught by Dr. Tom Sullivan and include Kei Sundt, Jayden Masten, Peter Rethy, Jaden Farley, Kay Ferrin, Alexandria Rodriguez, Hyla Cline, Martine Ekenes, David Griffith, Phil McBride, Kurt Adams, David Olson, Kyle Tucker, Bill Nidiffer, Karen Preston, Paul Roberts, and Ken Raines.

Members of the Gila Valley Jazz Combo include Tom Sullivan, Geoff DeSpain, Paul Roberts, Kay Ferrin, and Kei Sundt.

The concert will also feature guest vocalist, Ethan McBride.

Some of the songs the audience will enjoy include Mack the Knife, Summertime, April in Paris, Feelin’ Good, Minnie the Moocher, and more.
