THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Fine Arts Division is proud to present the 2019 Spring Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, on April 2-6, at 7:30 p.m., and April 6, at 2 p.m., in the EAC Fine Arts Auditorium
Little Shop of Horrors is a horror-comedy-rock musical with music by Alan Menken and lyrics and book by Howard Ashman. The story follows a hapless flower shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, “Skid Row (Downtown),” “Somewhere That’s Green,” and “Suddenly, Seymour.”
The cast includes Ashley Clement as Chiffon, Morgan Miller as Tonya, Kaylee Wilson as Ruby, Emily Nagy as Crystal, Megan Codling as Ronnette, Laura Meehl as Yvonne, Dawson Woolridge as Mr. Mushnik, Heidi Bolen as Audrey, Levi McClellan as Seymour, Kaiya McCray as Audrey II, Jonas Yarbro as Orin Scrivello, Noah Rohrbough as Wino #1, Dallin Keim as Wino #2, John Shestko as Wino #3, Isaac Burton as Customer, Rudy Perez as WSKID host, Charise Hirschi as Mrs. Bernstein, Matt Scott as Skip Snip,
“Join us on a trip to Skid Row, where anything can happen,” said director Jeff Skiba. “Where dreams are built and destroyed, where the only direction to go is up, and where dark alleys are not the only thing to fear.”
