EAC offers CLEP exams for students wanting to ‘test out’

By Taryn Lamb

THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College offers the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams to help you receive college credit for what you already know for a fraction of the cost of a college course.

Participants can prepare for and take the exams on their own time, whether a student is getting a head start on college or working to finish a degree. A CLEP exam costs $85 – $100 payable to CLEP and a $15 administration fee payable to EAC.

Examples of EAC classes that students can place out of include ENG101 Written Communications I and CMP103 Introduction to Computer-Based Systems. Students can also earn up to 16 credits in Spanish, French, or German languages and test out of French 101, 102, 201, and 202; German 101, 102, 201, and 202; and Spanish 101, 102, 201, and 202.

For more information or to set up an appointment contact Jerri Lukens, EAC testing coordinator, at (928) 428-8491 or by email at testing.center@eac.edu.
