THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College EAC is thrilled to be offering a new math class starting this fall, MAT225, Elementary Linear Algebra, section #1771. The course is designed to give engineering and math majors a leg up on their bachelor’s degree. It will meet from 8 – 9 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, in North Campus Classroom #23, with EAC associate professor, Gary Roth.

“Linear Algebra is very rich in real-world applications, most of which are unsolvable by calculus,” said Roth. “In addition, it is needed in order to study almost any branch of mathematics at the graduate level, is required for most bachelor’s degrees in engineering and mathematics, is less expensive here (at EAC) than other universities, is a great preparatory course for upper-division linear algebra courses, transfers to UA as MAT215 (and will waive your requirement for MAT313), and it will transfer to ASU as MAT242, Linear Algebra. For these reasons, it is a must-have course for both mathematics majors and engineering majors.”

Individuals who are interested in pursuing a degree in engineering or mathematics should register for this Fall 2019 course as soon as possible because it is only offered in the fall. Contact the EAC Records and Registration Office to enroll at (928) 428-8270 or visit www.eac.edu to register online.
