THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College, in partnership with Family Medical Center, will host a free sports physical event for student athletes on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Science and Allied Health Building, Room 103, on EA’s Thatcher campus.

The clinic is open to student athletes from Graham, Greenlee, and Cochise counties who need a physical to participate in school sports for the upcoming year. Local medical providers will conduct no-cost evaluations with support from EA Allied Health personnel and students, creating a convenient, one-stop experience for families.

Sports physicals are required for participation in school athletics and help ensure students are healthy and ready for competition. Events like this aim to remove financial and scheduling barriers for families while helping students meet eligibility requirements before the season begins.

“This free event simplifies the sports physical requirement for student athletes and their families, allowing students to focus on preparing for the upcoming season,” said Jennifer Williams, event coordinator and EA’s medical assisting program director.

Students should check with their school for required physical forms and bring completed paperwork signed by a parent or guardian.

The Science and Allied Health Building is located at 834 N. College Ave. in Thatcher.

Please note: Sports physicals are not a substitute for an annual wellness exam. Families are encouraged to schedule a yearly checkup with their primary care provider.
