DPS troopers seize nearly 6,500 pounds of illicit drugs in a three-month period

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Public Safety has reported seizing 6,498 pounds of illicit drugs between Aug. 1 and Oct. 31, 2024. The seizures were made statewide.

Drugs seized included:  

  • 837 pounds of fentanyl (powder and pills)
  • 514 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 33 pounds of heroin
  • 231 pounds of cocaine
  • 4,833 pounds of marijuana

“The ADPS would like to thank our partners at the federal, state, and local levels who provided vital assistance in many of these investigations,” the department stated in a release. “These seizures reflect the department’s ongoing commitment to disrupt the flow of dangerous drugs into our communities.”
