PHOENIX – DPS investigators made a large drug bust in Phoenix recently when a search warrant resulted in seizures and arrests.

On Thursday, Aug. 19, detectives with the Arizona Department of Public Safety Pinal Criminal Targeting Unit conducted a narcotics investigation in Phoenix near State Route 101 and 95th Avenue. This led to a residential search warrant for a property near 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix. As a result of this investigation, detectives located 17.8 pounds of fentanyl pills, 43.5 pounds of methamphetamine, three firearms, and approximately $10,000 in cash.

The suspects, Daniel Barcelo, 25, and Ernesto Barcelo Castillo, 29, both from Phoenix, were arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Jail. Both men face charges including possession and sale of a narcotic drug, possession, and sale of a dangerous drug, participation in a criminal enterprise, and money laundering.
