The blaze was reported around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at a mobile home on the property. Safford Fire Department crews arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames and quickly extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.

A Graham County Sheriff’s Office deputy was the first to arrive and reported a live wire down near the trailer. A responding deputy spoke with the property owner, who confirmed that a woman had been living in the mobile home. The property owner stated that the resident was not present at the time of the fire; she had been at another residence with her dogs for several hours prior. The property owner also noted there was no electricity connected to the trailer.

No one was inside the mobile home when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.

Safford Fire Department’s Fire Chief told deputies there were no signs of arson and that the fire may have originated from the live power line located to the north of the trailer.

Deputies documented the scene with photographs of the destroyed structure.

The incident remains under investigation by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office and Safford Fire Department, but officials have ruled out intentional foul play at this time.
