GRAHAM COUNTY – A visitor from Texas got a dose of Arizona hospitality as a couple of Graham County Sheriff’s Office deputies came to his aid.

According to a Graham County Sheriff’s Office report, the man called the County Dispatch on Saturday, Aug. 21, at about 4:20 p.m.

The man advised he and his silver, 2020 Ford Escape had been stuck in a wash near N. Day Mine Ranch Road for more than a day and that he was out of water.

Deputies responded to the area and located the man – who appeared to be in ok condition – and gave him Gatorade and crackers.

The Ford Escape was high-centered in the wash with the wheels dug into the sand. After receiving permission from the vehicle owner, a deputy pulled the Escape out of the wash. The Texan then followed the deputies out of the area and the call was cleared without further incident.
