Deadline for San Carlos Apache Tribe Small Business Plan Competition approaching

SAN CARLOS – Are you a San Carlos Apache Tribe member considering starting your own business? Apache business plans that have come from the small business plan competition each of the past two years have ranged from the fashionable to the functional – everything from custom-made hats to rodeo bucking bulls – even a mobile oil-change entrepreneur and a teenage landscape contractor.

How about you? Whether your idea is a Frybread Food Truck, a nail salon, or something new that nobody has ever considered launching to make a profit, this year’s Small Business Plan competition invites you.

Who should participate? San Carlos Apache Tribe members with a small business or an investing idea – and willing to present that idea to a group of your peers, for a shot at winning seed money to start your own business plus coaching in the process from skilled staff of the SCAT Economic Development Office. The goal of the competition is to recruit and train the next generation of Apache entrepreneurs and business owners.

The deadline to apply is Thursday, Sept. 14, and the competition begins the following week on Thursday, Sept. 21. To enter, email your plan to kodee.goseyun@scat-nsn.gov or deliver a hard copy to her at the Mitchell Hoffman Tribal Administration Building.
