SAFFORD – A couple was booked on felony warrants Tuesday, Sept. 25, regarding heroin use inside the Firth Park restroom after an officer investigated suspicious activity regarding a man and woman entering the facility together.

Henry Guerrero, 50, and Michelle Guerero, 45, were both arrested on warrants regarding previous charges of possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. The couple was given the charges after they were caught injecting heroin in the men’s restroom at the park on June 16.

On Sept. 25, an officer was dispatched to Firth Park regarding a man and woman entering a restroom together, but upon arrival, nobody was located inside the facilities.

However, Henry and Michelle were seen at a nearby picnic bench with another local homeless man. The three reportedly denied seeing anyone enter the restroom.

The officer then left but decided to run a warrant check on the subjects. When the check came back with active warrants for Henry and Michelle for their previous incident in the restroom, officers returned to the park and arrested them.

During a subsequent search, two unused needles, a cotton swab, and a spoon with a small amount of apparent drug residue were found in a bag held by Michelle. She claimed that Henry had asked her to carry the items.

The officer informed Michelle that since the spoon had such a small amount of residue, the items would just be destroyed and she wouldn’t face an additional drug paraphernalia charge.

Henry and Michelle were then booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Facility on their warrants.
