SAFFORD – Continuing its history of supporting the military and local first responders, Country Financial donated $500 to the American Legion on Veterans Day and will be handing out vouchers for burgers and fries at Taylor Freeze to all first responders on Friday.

Country Financial representatives Vaughn Grant and his daughter, Jenna Ferrin, will be doling out the gift cards from their office at 813 W. Court St. in Safford from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cards will each be good for two burgers and fries at either Taylor Freeze location in Pima or south of Safford.

On Thursday, after the Veterans Day event at the Graham County Courthouse, Vaughn and Jenna presented a $500 check to Gila Valley Honor Guard Steve Oller and the American Legion Swift Murphy Post 32.

Last year, Vaughn and Jenna gave away about 400 pizzas to local first responders and then hosted a pizza and ice cream social at Blue Ribbon Park next to the Pima Pool.
