Corona King of 2A East girls basketball again/Chlarson named Offensive Player of the Year

PIMA – For at least the third year in a row, Pima  Roughriders girls head basketball coach Roy Corona has been named by the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) as the 2A East Region Coach of the Year. 

Corona has led the No. 3 Roughriders to a perfect conference regular season (25-2 overall) another 2A East Regional Championship and is in the midst of a three-peat attempt for the 2A State Girls Basketball Championship.

2A Region Offensive Player of the Year

Center Ashlynn Chlarson was chosen as the 2A East Region Offensive Player of the Year. 

Chlarson is nearly unstoppable in single coverage down low and has shown her range by stepping back for 3s as well. She leads the team in points and is the number one point opponents have to deal with.
