GRAHAM COUNTY – A group of volunteers will meet Saturday morning to perform a search for missing 12-year-old Betty Sue Taylor, who was last seen in Thunderbird Mobile Estates on Sunday, March 20.

According to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, Betty was last seen at about 11 a.m. when she told her father she was going for a walk. After Betty had not returned home by 6 p.m., the family began to search for the missing girl and reported her missing to the Sheriff’s Office at about 8:06 p.m.

The organizers have coordinated with a family member and will meet at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at 1774 W. Ann’s Ranch Trail in Safford. From there, volunteers hope to perform a grid-type search and fan out into the surrounding area.

Anyone with an off-road vehicle, ATV, or side by side is encouraged to assist with their vehicles. Those who join the search should wear comfortable shoes for the desert, wear sunscreen, and bring plenty of water.

Betty was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with white lettering on the front, blue jeans, a baseball cap with neon colors, and turquoise and pink colored Van’s tennis shoes. She also may be in possession of a purple-colored backpack. She is described as being a white female, roughly 5’5” tall, 135 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair with red highlights.

She is originally from Kansas and may have been attempting to return to that state. The investigation into her disappearance is ongoing and anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Graham County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 428-3141.
