Clifton Police arrest juvenile robbery suspect

CLIFTON – A juvenile suspect has been apprehended regarding an alleged armed robbery that took place at the Conoco gas station on Jan. 29. 

Clifton Police Chief Omar Negrete issued a press release Monday advising of the juvenile’s apprehension that day at about 12:32 p.m., with the assistance of the Greenlee County Sheriff’s Office and Greenlee County Probation Department. 

According to the Greenlee County Superior Court, the 16-year-old male suspect has been charged with burglary in the first degree, burglary in the third degree, two counts of armed robbery, tampering with physical evidence, disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  

“This investigation is ongoing at this time, and no further information (is) being released at this time,” the release from Chief Negrete stated. “The Clifton Police Department will continue to release information as deemed not sensitive in the case.”
