Dan Novembre, reigning King-of-the-Hill returns
CLIFTON – A thunderous roar will once again echo throughout the walls of Ward Canyon this weekend as the 2022 Clifton Hill Climb gets underway. Timed runs begin at 9 a.m.
A parade is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., beginning from the Ward Canyon turn-off, running along Highway 191 (Colorado Boulevard), and ending at the American Legion Post No. 28 parking lot. A meet and greet session follows. The race cars will be escorted back to the paddock area in Ward Canyon at 7 p.m.
An awards ceremony held in the American Legion Sunday begins at 5:30 p.m.
Twenty-one entries are listed as of sunrise Saturday, April 30 including 2021 King-of-the-Hill and Colorado Springs resident Daniel Novembre, driving a 2013 GBO8S TC Special.
Joining him are three other Colorado entries, as well as 12 from Arizona, four from New Mexico, and one from Nevada competing in three classes.
There are 22 turns and a gain of 586 feet of elevation in the 1.9-mile Ward Canyon course. It was initially held in 1966.
The event is sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America – Arizona Region and The Town of Clifton.
