SAFFORD – Test your skill and warm up your archery aptitude at C&A Archery Inc.’s 3D Archery Fun Shoot this Saturday, June 29, at the Safford Archery Range.

The fun shoot will be a come-as-you-want event from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. and will feature a 30-target course with a variety of 3D animals, such as deer, elk, bear, javelina, baboons, and a raptor dinosaur.

All of the animals have scoring rings and will be scored akin to a competition shoot.

While the event is a fun shoot, there will be a smoker round that starts at 8 a.m. which will have a 70 percent payback out of those who enter the round.

Entry fees for the fun shoot are $5 for youth 12 and under, $10 for teens 13 – 17, and $20 for adults. There is also a family package good for two adults and two under 18 for $45.

C&A Archery Inc. owner and operator Chad Bailey said he is pleased to put on the event for the area and that he plans on holding competition shoots in the future as well.

“It’s definitely something that hasn’t been done in the (Gila) Valley for a while,” Bailey said.

The event will take place at the Safford Archery Range at 250 E. 2670 W. Dry Lake Rd. To get there, take Airport Road to Dry Lake Road and follow the signs. To take part, sign up and pay the day of the event.
