AMADO – U.S. Border Patrol agents working the Interstate 19 Immigration Checkpoint near Amado arrested a woman transporting crystal meth in a stereo speaker box in her vehicle Thursday afternoon.

Tucson Sector agents encountered a 19-year-old U.S. citizen female when she entered the checkpoint driving a 2007 Pontiac sedan. After a canine alerted to the vehicle, agents conducted a secondary inspection, discovering more than 67 pounds of meth hidden inside an aftermarket speaker located in the trunk.
