Arizona Cardinals Caravan to visit Safford on Thursday

SAFFORD – The Arizona Cardinals players and alumni, team mascot Big Red and Cardinals Cheerleaders will conclude the team’s “Cardinals Caravan” with stops in Safford on Thursday, April 7, and Tucson on Friday.

The “Cardinals Caravan” has been visiting cities across Arizona for the past two weeks to engage with fans, participate in community activities and visit local radio affiliates from the Cardinals radio network.

On Thursday, former Cardinals offensive lineman Rick Cunningham will join Big Red and Cardinals Cheerleaders in Safford for a Gatorade Jr. Training Camp at Safford Middle School (698 W. 11th Street) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., followed by a fan meet and greet at the Safford City Hall lawn (717 W. Main Street) from 4 – 6 p.m. The camp is closed to only the students already signed up for it but everyone is welcome at the meet and greet.

On Friday in Tucson, the Cardinals group will host a Gatorade Jr. Training Camp at Redeemer Lutheran School (8845 N. Silverbell Road) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Cardinals linebacker Devon Kennard will then join the group for a fan meet and greet at Grijalva Park (5775 S. Oak Tree Drive) from 4 – 6 p.m.

Each fan meet and greet is open to the public. The caravan group will sign autographs, take pictures and provide Cardinals giveaways. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in drills and test their football skills at interactive stations.

Previous stops on the Cardinals Caravan included Kingman, Lake Havasu, Sedona, and Flagstaff.
