PRESCOTT – It’s time to become an Outdoors-Woman!

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is the Arizona Wildlife Federation’s award-winning program that helps women gain skills and confidence in the outdoors. BOW Workshops provide a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning, making life-long friends, and having fun in the outdoors. These workshops are coordinated by AWF’s dedicated and professional BOW leaders with help from the Arizona Game and Fish Department and are offered three times each year. Our BOW program is nearly 30 years old and getting better every year!

Registration is now open for the April Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Workshop, which will be held on April 26-28 in Prescott, Arizona. The workshop is held at Friendly Pines Camp, which is nestled high in the Bradshaw Mountain Range and is situated at 6,300 feet of elevation, tucked between Spruce Mountain and Bean Peak in the Prescott National Forest. The camp was established in 1943!

There are four class sessions with 10 or more class choices for each session to choose from. Come and learn everything from identifying native Arizona plants to rappelling to Dutch oven cooking — we’ve got it all.

April’s Weekend Workshop brings you three brand new classes: Build the Heat, Salve Making With Local Plants, and Snakes and Reptiles of Arizona 101. There’s plenty to enjoy at a BOW Weekend — from expanding your knowledge of outdoors skills to sharing stories around the campfire to forging a new connection with nature, there’s so much to gain from Becoming an Outdoors-Woman.

The cost for the workshop is $435. This fee covers all classes, use of equipment, rooming in cabins, all meals, and additional speakers and activities. Don’t wait — our spots are filling up fast!
