PHOENIX – Arizonans now have more ways to support their favorite charitable causes, as the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division has added three new specialty license plates established by state law.

With the addition of the Italian American Heritage, Kidney Disease Awareness and the Suicide Prevention specialty plates, MVD now offers 107 specialty license plates that can be viewed and ordered at azmvdnow.gov/plates

“Specialty license plates offer a fun way to customize your vehicle and show your support for one of these uniquely Arizona organizations,” MVD Director Michael Cryderman said. “MVD is pleased to support Arizona communities through the various plates for the organizations dedicated to helping Arizona and our communities.”

Most specialty plates cost $25 each year. Of that amount, $17 goes to a designated charity or nonprofit group. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, specialty plate sales contributed over $15.8 million to various causes and charities.

The Arizona Legislature authorizes specialty plates, and ADOT has offered them since 1989. ADOT and law enforcement review plate designs. Personalization is available for an additional $25 per year.

“This plate is more than a way to customize your vehicle — it connects Arizona drivers to a community of more than 20 million Italian Americans across the country and to the enduring values of Italian culture that have shaped American life for generations. We thank ADOT and the Arizona Legislature for helping keep that legacy visible.”

Kidney Disease Awareness

The National Kidney Foundation of Arizona will receive $17 from each plate sold to cover services like patient assistance programs, public education, advocacy efforts and resources for Arizonans affected by kidney disease statewide.
