SAFFORD – The local Airgas branch in Safford, Arizona, has been named a recipient of the National Branch of the Year award. The team distinguished itself from 800 branch teams across North America, securing a spot as one of just four locations to receive the honor. The award celebrates high performance in safety protocols, operational growth, and customer satisfaction.

The Safford branch opened in the community in 2008 and serves one of Arizona’s largest copper mining regions. The team earned the 2026 National Branch of the Year award through a combination of high safety standards and strong financials, achieving more than 1,600 days without a single accident or injury, along with year-over-year sales growth. The team maintains strong local connections, resulting in outstanding customer service.

Jason Oshiro, President of the Airgas West Region, states, “The Safford team embodies operational excellence, safety, and superior service, setting a benchmark for Airgas and our local community. We congratulate the team for receiving this great honor.”

In September, Airgas’ CEO, Executive Vice President of Operations, and senior leaders visited the Safford branch to congratulate the team in person. The team received the National Branch of the Year platinum-coated cylinder trophy to display at the branch, and every associate received a custom, personalized championship ring to honor their role in this collective triumph.

The Safford team exemplifies how local empowerment drives exceptional customer experiences and outstanding results. They consistently go the extra mile to meet customer needs, fostering a collaborative environment where team members support and learn from one another, resulting in effortless service delivery. Their expertise in managing gas inventories, welding materials, and safety supplies, combined with their in-depth knowledge, makes them a valuable resource to the region and a deserving recipient of this esteemed award.
